Accommodation in independent living homes – provision of home-like environment conditions and necessary services to people (families), who require constant, intensive care, by creating conditions to handle their personal (family) life independently.
The service of accommodation in independent living homes is provided by Budgetary Institution Valakampiai Social Support Facility’s Independent Living Home.
Independent Living Home provides the accommodation service to 34 people (as well as families) with mild and moderate mental disability, i.e., they are provided with home-like environment conditions and necessary services by creating conditions to handle their personal life independently with the help of social workers and their assistants. The residents handle their life independently, however, if necessary, employees help the residents to go to the doctor, bank, various institutions to obtain documents, shopping, cook food, manage household, take care of children, and etc. The abilities and needs of each resident are different, thus everyone is provided with individual assistance.
